Nancy Low shapes broken pieces of heirloom china into mosaic designs she calls ‘memoryware’. The form for each of piece begins with a fragment from an old piece of ceramic porcelain: part of a cup handle, or lid, or saucer. These points of inspiration evoke the past and transform an assemblage of hundreds of other antique shards into a unique work.
Nancy’s art education began at the High School of Music and Art in New York, continued at the Art Students League, and Brown University. Her mosaics are in private collections throughout the United States and have been exhibited in Washington D.C., New York, Middleburg, Virginia, and Scottsdale, Arizona. For more than forty years Nancy has been a part-time resident of Vermont.
